5 Ways To Repurpose Your Research Data

As attention spans decrease, news cycles increase and budgets shrink, creating new, impactful PR tactics has become more difficult than ever before. When you do invest in a marketing or PR campaign, not only do you want a big impact, but you also want longevity--meaning, you don’t want it to be a flash-in-the-pan, one time event. This is why using market research to support your PR campaigns is such an efficient solution - you can repurpose your data into many different opportunities. Below are just a few examples that both our team and our clients have used to reuse existing data.

  1. Create a Downloadable White Paper

    • Our favorite, most common way we reuse our own internal data is by creating a white paper that our audience can download from our website if they leave their contact information. We love this approach because not only does it highlight our research and insights, but it also has longevity (depending on the topic) because it can just live on your site. A great way to get passive inbound leads.

  2. Use the data for Social Media posts

    • People love quick hits of data. An interesting fact here and an eye-opening insight there can really drive eyeballs and clicks on your social media posts. If you choose to run a crosstab, you have limitless options for the data you’ share as well.

  3. Use the data for tracking studies

    • Obviously the world is a much different place than it was just a few years ago. And if you have previously collected data, you can use that to rerun your study and turn it into a tracking study. No longer is it just a one-point-in-time data point, but you will be able to compare and contrast the similarities and differences in attitudes across that time frame.

  4. Incorporate the data and insights into your pitch deck

    • If you collect insightful data that you think prospective clients will find interesting, there’s no better way to share that information than by including it in your pitch deck. It demonstrates your company’s foresight, curiosity, data importance, and better highlights your capabilities.

  5. Use data as foundation for blog posts

    • As the saying goes, Content is King. And coming up with interesting content is difficult. Sure, it’s easy to just ramble on and have an entirely opinion based post. But when you really want to demonstrate your data acumen, it’s important to have facts and figures to support your claims. Incorporating your research data into your blog posts is a great way to add more credibility, and can help turn your company into more of a thought leader.

These are just 5 ways that our clients have reused their survey data to support their businesses, but there are countless more ways. Besides just reading the results, what else does your company do with survey data they collect? We’d love for you to share your comments.
