Lab42: breaking the mold of market research

Our Mission: To quickly and economically help our clients formulate the right questions, ask the right people, and get the right answers so that they have the insights they need to drive their businesses.

Lab42 was founded in August 2010 by a team of researchers who saw the need for change in the market research industry. The DIY research platforms were on a race to the bottom to become the cheapest and quickest, but those services focused on templates and lacked the human intelligence aspect of research. The large, traditional research companies were too expensive, time consuming, and required signing a large contract to even engage with them - making them prohibitive for many small and medium sized companies and agencies.

Lab42 has since expanded to become a new kind of market research firm, where you work directly with the research team on everything from survey writing and consultation to data analytics, report preparation, and creating Infographics. We are proud to offer high-quality services to all of our clients – from ad agencies, solo consultants, Fortune 100 companies and start-ups. We combine the speed and value of DIY platforms with the expertise and bespoke research options of traditional firms.

Managing Director of Operations, Founder

Jon has spent his professional career as an entrepreneur and is constantly looking to disrupt traditional industries by using new technologies. After working at Sandbox Industries as a ‘Founder in Residence’, Jon founded Lab42 in 2010 as a way to make research more accessible to smaller companies. Jon has a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Northern Illinois University.

Athos Maimarides

Managing Director, Research

Athos has over 25 years of market research experience. He began his career in a boutique market research firm in Dallas before working for Millward Brown where he gained experience across different methodologies and industries. Athos has a Master’s in Market Research from the University of Texas, Arlington and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Texas, Austin.

Research Manager

Rachel has over 10 years of market research experience. Her passion for research began while studying Psychology in school. She conducted studies on various subjects, including the effects of language on our memories and how vision impacts our sense of taste. She worked in a consumer research lab focused on web design and worked with data analytics at a marketing agency. Rachel holds a BS in Psychology from Denison University.

ALLIE SPRENGER

Research Analyst

Allie started her professional career working in the tech industry specializing in email marketing and demand generation. Her interest in market research began early on while a part of the Center for Consumer Research & Analytics at Ohio University. Allie has a Bachelors of Business Administration and graduated with degrees in Marketing, Business Analytics, and Management - along with a certificate in Consumer Research. She has research experience running focus groups, conducting individual interviews, and creating questionnaires.

James Nolan

Research Analyst

James started his marketing career in the B2B space, analyzing industry and consumer trends to help align product portfolios for various customers. He quickly became interested in understanding how companies use consumer insights to drive new product development and overall strategies, which led to him joining Lab42. In his spare time, James enjoys staying active, whether it's going to the gym or enjoying a nice hike with some scenic views. James has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Northern Illinois University.

RODoLFO SANCHEZ

Data Scientist / Statistician

Rodolfo has 20 years of experience in Fortune 100 companies in market research. He specializes in delivering consumer insights and strategies based on advance analytics and modeling for brand equity and positioning, new product development, pricing & margin setting, sales channel performance, and customer targeting, segmentation and profile, to name a few. He is a bilingual Industrial Engineer, with an MBA with International Business focus and a MS in Market Research of UTA.
