The Olympics are a big deal: ask almost any of our most recent survey respondents. 95% indicated that they have watched the Olympics in the past, and 93% said they’d be watching in 2012. Certainly the TV event of the summer, we decided to gather some more insights on the 2012 Summer Games.

We were shocked by how much– and sometimes how little– Americans knew about the Olympics. 56% knew that the color orange is not part of the rings (impressive!), but 16% didn’t know that this year’s Summer Games will be held in London.

Take a look at the infographic below, and see how your Olympic knowledge stands up to the rest of America– or, even better, quiz your friends at your Olympic Opening Ceremony party. Let us know how it goes!(if you’re looking to share some of these stats with your friends, we also took the liberty of turning this infographic into bite size pieces. Three cheers for Pinterest!)
