We hear time and time again how our clients would like to be doing more research, but they aren’t sure it’s a luxury they can afford.
Rather than viewing research as a nice to have, we encourage our clients to view it as an investment that can set them apart in the marketplace.
Types of Research for Agencies
Agencies of all sizes can utilize research in all stages of their client relationships.
For pitches: We often work with agencies who are pitching new clients by gathering primary data that can set them apart. This demonstrates their knowledge of the client and category in a way that secondary data just can’t do. The insights you bring to the table initially would set the stage for more meaningful initial discussions.
Add-on as part of services: We also work with agencies to determine how research can be built into the scope of work with their client from the get-go. Whether or not the client specifically asked for research to be included in their scope it is always an appreciated add-on and gives clients the opportunity to dig deeper into their business questions.
Ad-Hoc: Unlike more traditional research firms at Lab42 we work on a project by project basis rather than by a large contract commitment. This allows us to meet our clients where they are and fulfil their research needs, no matter the size of the project.
White Labeling or Partnering: We are able to be a silent partner working behind the scenes to conduct all your research to create a white labeled end product that you can run with. But some of our agency clients are looking for the added validity a third party research vendor brings, or just extra support during the process and in those cases we are happy to be a visible part of any team working directly with end clients.
We do find that smaller agencies have harder time finding a research partner that is agile enough to be able to accommodate their research needs, helping them define their research goals and guiding them through the best and most efficient and cost effective research approaches to achieve those goals.
