Avoiding Analysis paralysis: Choosing The Deliverables to fit your needs
Not all studies require the same analysis, and that’s why Lab42 offers a variety of options best suited for your needs.
If you have the time or enjoy sifting through the data yourself, raw data is a cost-effective way to plan your course of action. If you’re lacking time or unsure how to analyze the results a topline report may be best. And if you find yourself somewhere in the middle of these, the crosstab analysis can often provide an effective solution as well.
Below are explanations and examples of the different types of deliverables Lab42 offers:
Standard Results
The standard results include an Aggregate Overview PDF that shows a breakdown for each closed ended question by chart and an Excel raw dataset which breaks down each question at the respondent level.
The PDF file is a great budget friendly option that allows you to receive an overall breakdown of respondents on a question-by-question basis with charts and frequencies. The raw dataset in Excel allows you to go back to the individual respondent level for a deeper look at how respondents answered each question. It also includes the verbatim responses to any open ended questions included in the study.
If you’re looking to gauge an overarching look or have time to sift through the data yourself and discover further insights, and depending on the level of analysis required for your study, these are a great way to determine the insights needed to make an informed decision. However, if you’re looking for statistical differentiators or analyze between different splits (male vs. female, under 35 vs. over 35, etc.) then you should consider the options below.
Great for: Simple research studies, PR studies, Sequential tests, A/B tests.

Crosstab Analysis
The crosstab analysis includes each close ended question broken out by up to 15 customizable splits (male vs. female, under 35 vs. over 35, etc.). This type of analysis allows you a chance to uncover statistical significance between different subgroups.
Depending on the goals of your study these can be customizable to gain a better understanding of your target audiences. Generally, if you are comfortable analyzing on a question-by-question basis and drawing conclusions, this type of deliverable will suit your needs. If you are looking for more guidance on the key findings and implications, then you should consider the option below.
Great for: In addition to Standard Results for simpler research studies, Monadic Tests, any studies where subgroup analysis is needed.

Topline Report
The topline report, much like the crosstabs, can be customized. This report will provide key findings and implications along with a breakdown of relevant questions to the goal of the study.
This in-depth analysis will focus on the goal(s) of the study and provide recommendations based on the findings. This report usually ranges from 15-35 pages and provides analysis in an easy to digest manner. The easy flowing and data driven findings make it easier to create a plan of action with data to back up your decision.
Great for: Ad tests, Concept tests, Package Tests etc., Brand Equity studies, Pre/Post Ad Effectiveness Studies

FULL Report
Full Reports offer longer, story driven, in depth analysis of data among total respondents and among several subgroups, provides a holistic view of the insights and includes findings and recommendations based on the goals of the research. Fully customizable.
Great for: more complicated research studies, Segmentations, Conjoints, Wave Tracking studies.
Of course, we can provide other deliverables depending on the goals of the study and how you would like to use the data – and if that’s the case just let us know and we can work out a plan to ensure you get the most useful information to execute your next new product launch or help define your marketing plan for the upcoming year!
